Eastern Kentucky University’s Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning (FCTL) provides professional development to both tenured and new faculty/instructors. FCTL’s 2022-2023 website fails to meet its audience’s needs in organization, presentation, and clarity, which makes it difficult to locate and differentiate FCTL’s myriad services and resources. To learn about available services and resources visitors must dive into the nineteen nested links in the left-side menu. While the purpose of some links is clear (New Faculty Orientation), others are less clear (Pedagogicon). Additionally, there is no clear organizational scheme:

My redesign of the FCTL’s web presence aims to simplify and streamline navigation while also creating a more visually appealing interface by:
- Eliminating the left-side menu in favor of a top bar navigation;
- Reorganizing and categorizing menu items (e.g., grouping pedagogy services, grouping celebratory features, etc.);
- Moving logo and Mission, Vision, & Values to an About page;
- Including visually appealing banners/backgrounds/icons to highlight services, resources, events, etc; and
- Moving logo and Mission, Vision, & Values to an About page.
