I used Articulate Rise 360 to createdChoose Your Own Research Adventure: An Interactive Inquiry-Based Tutorial for ENG 102 (Eastern Kentucky University’s second-semester first-year writing course), an interactive, branched story to better demonstrate and engage students fully in the research process than existing “sit-n-get” static tutorials and research guides. I was guided by the simple premise of helping learners to see research as an inquiry-based endeavor rather than a confirmation-based one.

Instructors can use this asynchronous, stand-alone module as a pre-class activity (i.e., “flip the classroom”); librarians can embed it in online, asynchronous courses to and/or better meet the needs of online or distance learners.
